Here is a passage from St. Bonaventure:

• "...In order to provide you with the opportunity to receive such great gifts, I am sharing with you this Psalter dedicated to the Holiest Virgin. Although composed by my humble intellect, it was created with her grace and assistance. Through this Psalter, you will praise her diverse virtues - from her virginity and chastity to her fecundity and sanctity, from her clemency to her generosity.
• You will have the chance to honor her as full of grace, or as possessing all knowledge, or as illuminated by understanding and wisdom.
• You will bless the Fruit of her glorious womb, each part of His sacred body, and the unique characteristics of His soul, bestowing upon them all holiness.
• You will call upon all choirs of angels to exalt her, as well as all the saints, the peoples of every nation, the heavens, the magnificence of all stars, and the entire world's beauty.
• You will implore her to vanquish your spiritual adversaries, to secure forgiveness for all your sins so that she may make the divine Judge merciful towards you. May she bring light to your final moments and grant you eternal joy."
